Created from Runco’s decades-long legacy in high-end projection, Runco introduces the VX-33 home cinema projector, offered with both internal video processing and scaling in the VX-33i and an external Runco DHD controller/processor for flexible installation in the most sophisticated theaters. Incredibly bright so images pop on even the largest screens with the unsurpassed VX-33d.
Runco has taken 1080p projector performance to a new level with harnessed brightness and contrast capabilities inherent in Runco’s 3-chip light engine design. The VX-33d is supplied with Runco’s award-winning all digital DHD controller, featuring advanced Vivid video processing, superb scaling and aspect ratio control. The VX-33d and DHD connect via a pure digital signal path from input to output.
The VX-33 DLP™ projector is enhanced further by features created to offer flexibility, including motorized lens shift and Runco’s newest cinema-quality CinOptx™ lenses and O-Path™ light path enhancement technology for stunningly sharp video.
The VX-33 can be equipped with Runco’s exclusive, award-winning CineWide™ and CineWide with AutoScope™ technology. This technology provides uncompromised widescreen reproduction of movies originally filmed in the CinemaScope™ 2:35:1 format. It maintains constant vertical height on the screen just as in a movie theater. When a viewer transitions from 1.78:1 (16:9) program material to superwide 2.35:1, the image simply gets wider while full screen height is maintained, eliminating useless black bars on the top and bottom of the screen.
Runco CineWide is achieved through Runco’s ingenious combination of software, electronics and precision anamorphic optics. With Runco CineWide the projection system is able to use the full pixel array on its SuperOnyx™ DMD™ chips, thereby producing a 2.35:1 image with enhanced resolution and increased brightness. No resolution or image area is lost to those black bars that contain no picture information. Combined with Runco AutoScope, the anamorphic lens is motorized and remote controlled.
