I am an enormous fan of college football. I plan my Saturdays each fall around my beloved UO Duck games (for those of you who aren’t living within the reaches of the Pac-10 – err, Pac-12? - you likely know the University of Oregon less for its football and more for its completely radical, albeit somewhat unconventional, uniforms). In my house, nothing is better than waking up early Saturday to watch ESPN Gameday, especially when they are in Eugene, then catching the games on the East Coast, watching my Ducks later that afternoon followed by lazy Sunday nights to see the latest BCS rankings. My husband grew up in Texas, went to A&M and loves his Cowboys, so pigskin is dominant every weekend and holiday, from now through January, in our house.

In the 2006 movie “The Holiday” with Cameron Diaz, Judd Law, and Jack Black, there is a great scene with Kate Winslet and Eli Wallach, who plays Arthur, a retired movie screenwriter.  He advises her to be bold and to become the “leading lady” of her own life.  That she shouldn’t be acting like the supporting character or “best friend,” but should take control of her life.

I have been asked several times recently if Runco products were only for celebrities.  They have seen the magazine write-ups or have talked to a dealer, and that leads them to believe that only famous actors, musicians, or real estate moguls own Runco products in their luxury homes.  Although we love our high-profile clients and appreciate that they have invited our products into their homes, but I can assure you our client-base is not exclusively celebrities.

For every famous recording artist, there are dozens of pediatricians or veterinarians who have created exceptional entertainment spaces in their homes.  For every movie director, there are electrical engineers or marketing managers who want a place to relax and recharge and their Runco product is in the center of their experience.
